Welcome... To the Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center
It was founded in 1982 by third generation Chen Pan-ling Master, Kai Sung and his students, with James Ransom as
its first President. It was run by second president, Jampa Mackenzie Stewart until 1990. It continues to operate as
a non-profit educational organization to promote T'ai Chi Ch'uan and related internal arts.
T'ai Chi Ch'uan courses are offered in both William CC Chen Yang and Chen Pan-Ling forms from beginner to advanced
level. Courses are also offered in Qigong, Peter Ralston’s Cheng Hsin T’ui Shou, and the martial arts legacy of Chen

Mission Statement:
The Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center is a not-for-profit educational institution, incorporated in 1982, whose
mission is to promote Good Health and Longevity for its students and members, through the instruction and practice
of T'ai Chi Ch'uan and its related Internal Arts. We maintain an open learning atmosphere, combining ancient
tradition with modern instructional techniques, and encourage an open exchange of information from teachers of
all Martial Arts and Disciplines.
Vision Statement:
The Vision for the future of the Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center will be to continue and further the legacy
granted to us by the first wave of Chinese T'ai Chi Ch'uan teachers to reach our shores, by attaining a greater
presence and position in the T'ai Chi Community, both regionally and nationally.
